Alongside painting, Tocca is currently working on his ongoing Short Manual of Landscape Painting, a collection of studies, aphorisms and euphuisms on landscape and the environment as natural phenomena and a genre, part published on the occasion of Landina, CARS Omegna (VB). Among his published writings are: Cinque o più storie di pittura –a series of essays on painter and writer Carlo Levi (1903-1975), and painters Fausto Pirandello (1899-1975), Roberto Melli (1858-1964) and Pio Semeghini (1878-1964); Raffaello, Back to College (in La Muta, beyond silence, Baskerville, Bologna, 2015);  As seen for the first time (Collectors Harmaan/Bloedow, Berlin, 2016); Balthus, Scuderie del Quirinale, Rome – Kunstforum, Wien (fisk frisk magazine, 2016).
