Alongside painting, Tocca is currently working on his ongoing Short Manual of Landscape Painting, a collection of studies, aphorisms and euphuisms on landscape and the environment as natural phenomena and a genre, part published on the occasion of Landina, CARS Omegna (VB). Among his published writings are: Cinque o più storie di pittura –a series of essays on painter and writer Carlo Levi (1903-1975), and painters Fausto Pirandello (1899-1975), Roberto Melli (1858-1964) and Pio Semeghini (1878-1964); Raffaello, Back to College (in La Muta, beyond silence, Baskerville, Bologna, 2015); As seen for the first time (Collectors Harmaan/Bloedow, Berlin, 2016); Balthus, Scuderie del Quirinale, Rome – Kunstforum, Wien (fisk frisk magazine, 2016).
Over the years he has been visiting lecturer in colleges in the UK and in institutions in Italy, including the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford University; Christie’s Education, London; The Artist as Critic, Siena Art Institute, Siena (2015, Italy); Carlo Levi, Fear of Painting, Fear of Writing, Casa delle Letterature, Rome (2015); Storie Minori, Triennale di Milano (2016).
